Alleppey (Allaphuzha)
Alappuza beach:
A famous beach and picnic spot with a children park and boating facilities for entertainment. The old lighthouse also adds to the beauty of this beach and the pier, which extends into the sea is over 137 years old.
Ernakulam (Cochin)
Cherai Beach:
This cool and calm beach bordering Vypeen Island is ideal for swimming, and dolphins, which are occasionally seen here, attract tourists. Paddy fields and coconut groves nearby, makes this place more beautiful.
Willingdon Island:
This wonderful man made island named after Lord Willindgon, the erstwhile British Viceroy of India, is surrounded by backwaters and is a very important part of Cochin. It sites the city's best hotel, the government of India tourist office, the southern naval command head quarters, the Cochin port trust and the customs house. Also on this island are the offices of several major trading and industrial houses.

Lakshadweep Island:
About 300 kms from Kerala, Lakshadweep is a group of 36 islands located in the Arabian Sea. Only few of these islands are inhabited and are famous tourism destination.
Bolgatty Island:
The beautiful Bolgatty Place built by the Dutch in 1774, is situated on this island with a golf course on its grounds and palm trees all around. The KTDC now runs a hotel there and it is easily accessible from the mainland.

Kozhikode (Calicut)
Beypore
10 kms South of Kozhikode, located at the mouth of the River Chaliyar is
Beypore, a small coastal town and boat building industry which was for centuries, one of the prominent port and fishing harbours of ancient Kerala. It was much sought after, by merchants of Western Asia for its boat building industry and even today, Beypore is still a favourite destination among Arabs, shopping for large boats.
The boat-building yard here is also very famous today for its country crafts
called 'Uru' built by traditional boat builders, known as Khalasis.

Dharmadam Island:
About 3 kms from Thalassery lays the small island of 'Dharmadam'. This tiny 5-acre island is covered with coconut palms and green bushes, which is a beautiful sight from the beach. A bus ride from Thalassery will take one to the place of destination but permission is required to enter this privately owned island.
Ezhimala Beach:
The Ezhimala Beach lies at the northern boundary of Kannur. Rare medical herbs (Ramayana) with mythological significance grow on
Ezhimala, the strange seven-peaked range. Around 50 kms from here, is the Mount Deli Lighthouse, an old tower of great antiquity. It's maintained by the Navy and is a restricted area.
Kizhunna Beach:
11 Kms from Kannur, This beautiful stretch of sand is one of the most secluded beaches in Kerala.
Muzhappilangad Beach:
Muzhappilangad Beach, one of the longest beaches in Kerala is located 15 kms south of
Kannur. This is the only drive-in beach in India.
Moppila Bay :
This is a natural fishing harbour situated near St.. Angelo's Fort. A sea wall extending to a huge height, projecting from the fort separates the rough sea and inland water. Mechanised and country crafts can enter into the island from the sea and anchor safely.
Payyambalam Beach:
2kms from Kannur, Payyambalam, the long, lovely beach is a local picnic spot. Flat laterite cliffs jut into the sea at one end. Picturesque and incredibly beautiful, the beach is only walking distance from Fort St. Angelo.
Kasargode
Bekal Beach:
The 300 years old Bakel Fort is the largest and best-preserved fort in Kerala, which is 16kms south of Kasargod on the national highway. This imposing circular structure of
laterite, rising 130 feet above sea level, stands on a 35-acre headland that runs into the Arabian Sea.
Pallikere Beach:
Situated 1 km from Bekal Fort, this enchanting beach offers a spectacular view of the fort.
The Kappil Beach:
This beach is remote and secluded. The Kodi Cliff nearby offers a panoramic view of the Arabian Sea. Situated 6 kms from Bekal fort.
Kanwatheertha Beach:
The swimming pool like formation of the sea water is the main attraction of this beach. It is situated 3 kms from
Manjeswaram.
Malappuram
Padinharekara Beach:
Padinharekara Beach offers a breathtaking view of the confluence of the Bharatha Puzha (River
Bharatha), the Tirur Puzha (River Tirur) and the Arabian Sea.
Tanur Beach:
The small coastal fishing town of Tanur was one of the earliest settlements of the Portuguese. It is believed that St. Francis Xavier visited the place in 1546 and converted the local chieftain to Christianity. About 3 km south of Tanur is Keraladesapuram Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is said to be one of Kerala's oldest temples.
Vallikunnu Beach:
A beach resort set in the middle of a coconut grove is the main attraction here. The Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary is just a short distance away.
Kollam (Quilon)
Thirumullavaram Beach:
6 kms north of Kollam town, is the beautiful and quiet little Thirumullavaram Beach, which is a lovely picnic spot and is also ideal for swimming or bathing in the sun .It has frequent bus connections from the town.
Thangasseri Beach:
Situated 5 kms from Kollam Town, this seaside has ruins of an old Portuguese fort and churches built in 18th century.
Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum)
Kovalam (Beach):
12 kms south of Thiruvananthapuram, is one of the finest beaches in India,
Kovalam. With boundless blue of the Arabian Sea and unwinding miles of fine sand washed by surf, which roars and hisses at the feet of coconut palms, Kovalam is a sheltered natural bay. The setting has an illusory quality about it.
Shanghumugham Beach:
Situated 8 kms from Thiruvanathapuram city, this is a popular city beach and favourite haunt for sunset watchers. The other attraction of this beach is
"Matsya Kanyaka"- a 35 metre long sculpture of a mermaid.
Veli Lagoon:
On the outskirts of Kerala's capital, Thiruvanthapuram and by the side of the placid waters of Veli lake, the Boat club attracts the city people and tourists. Veli Lagoon, developed as a major tourist spot provides various facilities for entertainment like Pedal boating, row boating, swimming, get-togethers etc. It is just the right place for an exciting outing and is easily accessible by road.
Wayanad
Kuruva Island:
Kuruva Island is around 950 acres of evergreen forest on the banks of River
Themkabani. It is 17 kms east of Mananthavadi. The island is a repository of rare species of birds, animals, orchids and herbs.
